The next day after prisoners from among Ukrainian militaries marched on the streets of Donetsk, what was called to be Parade of Hatred by Ukrainian media In the center of Ivano-Frankivsk (Western Ukraine) a solemn procession walked from the monument to Ivan Franko to Veche Maidan on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, the column was headed by the municipal brass band and about 20 veterans of the OUN-UPA - Nazi military structure famous for mass killing of Judes, Polish and pro-Soviet Ukrainians while World War II.
Ahead of the procession the activists of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists carried the portrait of Stepan Bandera who was the leader of Ukrainian Nazis while WWII.
Behind them the protesters unfurled a banner "Independence is a struggle!" and a large national flag of Ukraine.
Among the participants were young people, residents, activists of parlament members political parties "Freedom" ("Svoboda") and "Fatherland" (Batkivshina), and the first Deputy head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration Volodymyr Semko, also with the Secretary of Ivano-Frankivsk city Council Nikolai Vitenko and Ruslan Marcincin, who is an MP of Ukraine Parlament faction formed by "Svoboda" party.
Participants of the rally chanted "Ukraine is first of all!", "Glory To Ukraine! Heroes of glory!", "Glory to the nation! Death to our enemies!" and other slogans of this kind.
In Ivano-Frankivsk during the festive event was rain, but, despite this, the action was attended by about 1 thousand people.
