All-clear given in central Donetsk following bomb threat

Donetsk, Feb 12 – DAN. DPR Emergencies Ministry emergency teams have declared the monument to Comrade Artyom in central Donetsk safe as no bomb has been found, DAN correspondent says.

The bomb threat temporarily locked down the intersection of Artyoma and Mira streets in central Donetsk earlier this morning. Response teams lifted the suspicious slab from a distance using a robe, examined the monument’s base and declared the territory safe.

A rally was expected to gather by the Comrade Artyom monument at 10 a.m. today to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the Donets-Krivoy Rog Republic proclamation. The gathering was shortly interrupted by the emergency situation and continued as police and engineers left the scene. *ot
