Australia lobbies US interests with sanctions against DPR,LPR policymakers – Bidyovka

Donetsk, Mar 19 – DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic parliament speaker Vladimir Bidyovka believes that Australia acted as an instrument of U.S. political influence by launching personal sanctions against Donbass Republics’ politicians.

“Apparently all People’s Republics representatives who found themselves on this list pose no real threat to Australia; the real reason behind imposing sanctions is to lobby U.S. interests in the international arena,” Bidyovka told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

He regretted Australia’s actions being guided by American ambition and its support of the policy of western countries which he said had wrong and even biased ideas about the real situation in Donbass.

“I’m sure that this event will have no negative impact on the future of Donbass,” he said. “The only thing that causes regret is that from this time on, Australia is a new tool for U.S. politicking.”

On March 18, Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne stated that the country was launching personal sanctions against seven Russian citizens and three citizens of the DPR and the LPR in connection with the Kerch Strait incident on November 25, 2018.

On that day, three Ukrainian warships crossing into the Sea of Azov from the Black Sea violated rules of passage through the Russian territorial waters. Russia used weapons to stop them. The warships were detained and convoyed to Kerch and criminal proceedings were launched over the Russian border violation.

The sanctions list includes LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik and the Donbass Republics parliament speakers, Vladimir Bidyovka (DPR) and Denis Miroshnichenko (LPR).*jk*pp
