Civilian wounded in Ukrainian ammunition round blast in southern DPR – militia

Donetsk, Sep 17 – DAN. A civilian suffered shrapnel wounds in a Ukrainian ammunition round explosion in the Sakhanka village in the south of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR People’s Militia reported on Thursday.

“Ukrainian aggression, now in its sixth year, continues to cause DPR residents pain and suffering. Aside from aimed strikes at residential areas of our Republic, civilians are often hurt in blasts of unexploded ordnance fired by Ukrainian criminals,” the militia said. “On Thursday, a 58-year-old resident suffered shrapnel wounds in an UXO blast near a water body in the Sakhanka village.”

The victim was rushed to the Novoazovsk hospital. The DPR militia believes that the ammunition round had been fired by Ukrainian army’s 36th Separate Marines Brigade servicemen during a strike at Sakhanka.

The village is located next to the contact line in the south of the Republic. It had regularly come under fire before the additional ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020.*jk
