Detained Ukrainian servicemen confess to planning sabotage against OSCE personnel

Donetsk, May 23 – The Ukrainian servicemen who were detained in the Elenovka area on May 22 confessed to sabotage plans against OSCE Special Monitoring Mission personnel in the Donetsk People’s Republic territory, DPR People’s Militia spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Thursday.

“The saboteurs are making a confession. They said they had been tasked with carryout out subversive operations in the Republic; one targeted OSCE SMM personnel,” Bezsonov said.

All the eight detainees have been identified, he added.

Earlier reports said that DPR militiamen had detained a Ukrainian commando team. A search found that the team had carried explosives. The Ukrainians were clad in DPR uniforms and had DPR documents on them. Ukraine’s headquarters of the so-called “joint forces operation” confirmed the detention of the team.*jk
