Donbass and Kiev reach agreement on legal clearance of detainees

Donetsk, Dec 23 – DAN. The participants of the Minsk talks have agreed during the today’s video conference to exchange POWs before the year ends, said DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova.

“We have finally managed to reach an agreement on the swap on the condition of a guaranteed legal clearance of the detainees in Ukraine,” she said.

According to Morozova, Donetsk is determined to liberate all unfairly convicted Republic’s within the shortest time possible.

The sides have also harmonized a document cementing the obligation of the sides to swap detainees this year on the “all identified for all identified” basis.

“Ukraine has finally confirmed its obligation to apply procedure guaranteeing immunity from prosecution and criminal sanction to all people who return under the exchange,” the DPR Foreign Ministry said. *ot
