DPR Culture Ministry asks religious communities to limit public events



Donetsk, Mar 26 – DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Culture Ministry has  called upon the religious community leaders to step up COVID-19 lockdown measures.

“To prevent the spreading of the coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the DPR Culture Ministry requests you to take all preventive measures towards the believers’ safety,” the Ministry said in an appeal published on its official website on Thursday.

These measures include a maximum limit of public events, switching to online communication and religious ceremonies, raising believers’ awareness of acute respiratory viral infection and COVID-19 symptoms and prevention, and more vigorous sanitary and anti-epidemic regime.

On March 14, the DPR went on high alert in connection with the threat of the coronavirus infection. The persons arriving from COVID-19 affected countries including Ukraine, China, Spain, Italy, Iran, Korea, France and Germany are ordered to self-isolate themselves at home for 14 days from the date of arrival. Starting from March 25, two-week self isolation is mandatory for persons entering the Republic through Russia.*jk
