DPR fetes People’s Militia, celebrates its 5th jubilee

Donetsk, Nov 12 – DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head, DPR Supreme-Commander-in-Chief Denis Pushilin awarded two military units for distinguished performance in defending Donbass as the Republic marked the 5th anniversary of the establishment of People’s Militia.

The award-giving ceremony was held on the square near the monument to the defenders of Donbass in the city’s Kievskiy district on Tuesday.

“The People’s Militia history is a record of courage, valour and true service to the Motherland,” Pushilin said as he addressed the militiamen. “Over these five years you have shown what patriotism is, what love for one’s homeland is and what loyalty to one’s people’s is.”

The DPR leader expressed the hope that younger generations would follow the example of heroic and steadfast Donbass defenders.

An exhibition of artillery pieces and armoured vehicle was arranged for the visitors.

The militia jubilee was also marked at the Donetsk Slavic Culture Centre.

The Donetsk People’s Republic militia was established on November 12, 2014.*jk
