DPR Foreign Ministry expects no changes in Minsk after Kuchma’s reappointment

Donetsk, Jun 3 – DAN. The DPR Foreign Minister representing the Republic at the Minsk talks Natalia Nikonorova said that the participation of Ukrainian ex-president Leonid Kuchma in the negotiations is not going to yield expected results.

“Kuchma’s appointment as Ukraine’s representative in the Minsk Contact Group indicates that no changes to their position can be expected. Leonid Danilovich is an experienced long-serving negotiator, but he has already served as Ukraine’s authorized representative.”

His return, Nikonorova said, will not contribute to any progress in fulfilling Kiev’s responsibilities.
Earlier in the day Zelensky appointed Kuchma to represent Ukraine at the Minsk Contact Group.

Previously, Kuchma occupied the same position from 2014 to 2018.

The next round of talks is scheduled in Minsk for June 5. *ot
