DPR largest thermal power plant generates 7.5 bln kW/h of electricity in 2018

Donetsk, Jan 10 – DAN. The Starobeshevo thermal power plant generated nearly 7.5 billion kW/h of electricity in 2018, up almost 25 percent from the previous year, the Donetsk People’s Republic Coal and Energy Ministry press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“The Starobeshevo thermal power plant of the Donbass Energy company has summed up the results of its work last year. It produced nearly 7.5 billion kW/h of electricity, up 1.37 billion kW/h from 2017,” the press service said.

The output target has been exceeded by 7.94 percent, it added.

The Starobeshevo thermal power plant located in the Noviy Svet township southeast of Donetsk is the largest in the DPR. Commissioned in 1958, it currently employs some 2,500 people. Late last year, it reactivated the 8th energy unit mothballed in 2014.*jk
