DPR, LPR Public Chambers sign cooperation agreement aimed at integration with Russia

Donetsk, Aug 29 – DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Public Chamber representatives signed a cooperation agreement with their colleagues from the Lugansk People’s Republic at a ceremony at the Prokofiev State Academic Philharmonic in Donetsk on Thursday.

The document was signed by the chairmen of the DPR and LPR Public Chambers, Alexander Kofman and Alexey Karyakin, in the presence of PC members.

“The signing of a cooperation agreement between the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics Public Chambers is a new benchmark in the development of our friendly relations,” Kofman said. “We have one objective: integration with the Russian Federation.”

The agreement envisions the organisation of joint projects and events and sharing of the experience in working with residents and government bodies.

The DPR set up its Public Chamber, a consulting and deliberative body, in June 2019. Its main objective is to ensure effective interaction between the authorities and the population for quick solution of current issues of the state. The Chamber comprises 51 members; the head of the Republic, social movements and organisations and municipals authorities have a 17-seat quota each. In February 2019, DPR Head Denis Pushilin announced that the Republic was setting up its Public Chamber.*jk
