DPR militiaman killed in Kiev army mortar fire

Donetsk, Apr 9 – DAN. A Donetsk People’s Republic militiaman was killed in Ukrainian army mortar fire over the past 24 hours, DPR People’s Militia spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Tuesday.

“A defender of our homeland died in Ukrainian armed formations mortar fire,” Bezsonov said.

According to the People’s Militia, eight settlements on the Gorlovka, Donetsk and Mariupol axes had been shelled over the past 24 hours. Overall, Kiev’s army fired 34 82mm and 120mm mortar rounds.

“DPR militia retaliated with unprohibited weapons to destroy the enemy’s firing positions. The enemy casualties amounted to four dead and three wounded,” the spokesman said.

Earlier on Tuesday, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported 18 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces over the past 24 hours. Two women in Donetsk and Gorlovka were wounded in the shelling.*jk
