DPR MP detained on suspicion of receiving bribes since September 2018

Donetsk, Mar 29 – DAN. A DPR MP has been detained in on suspicion of corruption, the DPR Prosecutor General’s office said.

“A criminal investigation has been launched against an MP related to bribery received by a civil servant.”

The suspect is believed to have been accepting bribes in the amount of 20 thousand rubles on a monthly basis from September 2018 until March 2019 from a number of entrepreneurs to lobby their interests and assist them in receiving additional benefits and business privileges.

“The MP was detained on March 28, 2019 on suspicion of the abovementioned crime under Art. 343 p. 4 of the DPR Criminal Code,” the DPR Prosecutor General’s office said.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing. In the interests of the investigation, the suspect’s identity has not been made public. *ot
