DPR post issues stamps with Brezhnev as final part of “Outstanding People” series

Donetsk, Dec 18 – DAN. DPR State Post has issued the final collection of postal stamps in the series commemorating outstanding Soviet leaders.

The latest collection of the “Outstanding People” series features Leonid Brezhnev, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Council.

The stamp No.231 depicts Brezhnev against the background of the USSR state flag. The price is 39 rubles; the number of copies is 24,000.

The first-day envelope shows the Soviet leader against the background of the Moscow Kremlin.

Other collections of the series feature Joseph Stalin, under whose leadership the USSR won the WWII and became one of the world’s most powerful states; and Vladimir Lenin, an outstanding revolutionary and politician. *ot
