DPR reveals inconsistencies in Kiev’s report on four military deaths outside Mariupol

Donetsk, Aug 7 – DAN. The DPR Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) has revealed a number of inconsistencies in Kiev’s report on deaths of Ukrainian troops in an alleged DPR attack outside Mariupol.

“The DPR Mission has investigated the incident involving deaths of members of Ukrainian armed formations. The results show DPR units were completely unable to shell Ukrainian positions given the discrepancy of distances and technical characteristics of weapons indicated by the Ukrainian side,” the Mission’s report reads.

Ukrainian defense ministry issued a report saying an RPG was used in the attack, while the Ukrainian mission to the JCCC said it was an SPG-9. Their effective range is 200-700 m and 1,300 m, correspondingly. The distance between DPR forwards positions and the presumed site of deaths is 3,000 m.

DPR Intelligence said that the four troops were killed as a result of reckless unloading of anti-personnel mines outside Orlovskoye. The elevation map and weapons’ performance characteristics show the fire could not originate from DPR positions.

An indefinite ceasefire came into force in Donbass in the night of July 20-21 as it has been agreed to by the Contact Group in Minsk.

The new ceasefire agreement includes provisions for disciplinary measures against perpetrators, ban on offensive, sabotage and reconnaissance operations, ban on any fire including sniper fire, deployment of heavy weapons to populated areas and, first of all, civilian infrastructural objects such as schools, kindergartens, hospitals and public places. *ot
