DPR says Kiev’s new representative to Contact Group should carefully read Minsk Agreements

Donetsk, Aug 5 – DAN. DPR Foreign Ministry recommended new Ukrainian representative to the Minsk Talks Leonid Kravchuk to study the Minsk Agreements in order to understand the situation better.

“All members of the Ukrainian delegation, old and new, should read the documents they are going to work with properly,” said DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.

“All the possible compromises are listed in the Package of Measures. Kravchuk suggests looking for new compromises, which imply review of the previous agreements.  Instead of working on securing the Donbass status, we are proposed “a special mode of governance; they start to remember old decrees on a free economic zone to attract investment,” she said.

Nikonorova expressed concern over Kravchuk’s statement on not knowing how to integrate the Steinmeier’s Formula into the law.

“As a head of the delegation, he cannot be unaware of the fact that the Contact Group has already discussed its implementation and formulation, and where in the law on Donbass status it should be integrated.”

“We hope that Mr Kravchuk is not going to start his work with attempts to attenuate the hardly brokered agreements of the Contact Group.”*ot*pp
