DPR schools, universities switch to online courses



Donetsk, Mar 19 – DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic education institutions are switching to online coursework starting March 19 against the spread of coronavirus. Decree No 502 ordering distance learning was published on the Education and Science Ministry website on Wednesday.

Under the document, “the online education process using distance learning technology” is introduced to cover higher education, vocational training and secondary and supplementary education for children. This mode of study applies to comprehensive schools on March 19-21, i.e. before the spring holidays, and continues from March 30 until further notice.

The DPR education institutions cancel all events, including off-site activities until further orders.

The Ministry also ordered to step up preventive measures which include supply of disinfectants to classrooms, dining halls, dormitories etc.



On March 14, DPR Head Denis Pushilin put the Republic on high alert in connection with the threat of coronavirus infection. The persons arriving from COVID-19 affected countries such as Ukraine, China, Spain, Italy, Iran, Korea, France and Germany are ordered to go into 14-day self-imposed quarantine at home from the date of arrival.*jk
