Epidemic situation in DPR under control due to heroism of doctors and preventive measures – Pushilin

Donetsk, Dec 28 – DAN. The epidemic situation in the DPR remains under control, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said in his annual address to the Parliament.

“The situation with COVID-19 spread has affected the implementation of the set tasks. We were forced to focus our efforts battling the spread of the virus and saving lives of our citizens. Now I can assure you that we have succeeded. Thanks to the heroism of our medics and the joint efforts the situation has been taken and remains under control.”

The DPR faced the new virus on March 31, 2020 when the first COVID-19 case in the Republic was revealed.

As of the morning December 28, the total of 4,848 COVID-19 patients remain under medical surveillance. The DPR went on high alert and introduced a number of restrictions to curb the epidemic. *ot
