Humanitarian corridor opens at Elenovka checkpoint

Donetsk, Jul 13 – DAN. DPR has reopened Elenovka checkpoint at the contact line to let people across the border.

A dozen of vehicles and about 50 pedestrians gathered at the checkpoint by the time it opened.

“I am going home, I have my residential registration in Dmitrov. I came here in March for my son’s birthday, and had to stay here because of the situation. I hope to get back home,” said one of travelers. Pensioner Lidia Monastyryeva.

Elenovka checkpoint on the contact line re-opened on July 7 for one day to allow 120 people into the Republic. All the travelers were put under 14-day observation. The patients were transferred to specialized medical facilities.

To enter the DPR, travelers must be granted clearance from the HQ; for exit they must have a registration in Ukraine.

Travelers entering the Republic are subject to a 14-day quarantine.

The DPR suspended the operation of crossing points on the contact line in March to prevent the import of the coronavirus infection. The Yelenovka crossing point reopened for exiting the DPR on June 22 and for entering the DPR on June 25. Its operation was suspended again on June 28.*ot
