Kiev deploys four Buk anti-aircraft missile systems to Mariupol – DPR intelligence



Donetsk, Nov 7 – DAN. Ukrainian forces deployed four Buk anti-aircraft missile systems to Mariupol, the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia reported on Thursday.

“Out intelligence spotted four 9K37M1 anti-aircraft missile systems “Buk” in the Mariupol area and two self-propelled howitzers Gvozdika, 122mm, in the Kalinovo village area (west of Gorlovka – eds Donetsk News Agency), the report said.

Commissioned in 1983, the Buk system can counter aircraft, helicopters and ballistic missiles at altitudes up to ten kilometres in the condition of electronic countermeasures.

According to one of the versions, the Malaysian Airlines plane which flew from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur in the summer of 201 was downed with a Buk missile. There were no survivors among the 298 people on board.



The DPR said that the Republic’s militia had nothing to do with the Malaysian Airline Boeing crash as it had no such systems in service. At the same time, the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office said that it had proof that Ukrainian forces had caused the crash.*jk
