Kiev forces fire at Vasilyevka pumping station, personnel hides in shelter – JCCC

Donetsk, Sep 17 – DAN. Ukrainian armed formations shelled the Vasilyevka pumping station outside Yasinovataya on Tuesday morning, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the  Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported.

“Ukrainian armed formations in Novosyolovka-2 opened fired at the Vasilyevka village with large calibre machine guns and small arms at 09:22,” the report said. “The Vasilyevka 1st level pumping station of the Yuzhnodonbassky water duct came under fire; the personnel had to take cover in a shelter because of the threat to their life and health.”

The shelling is ongoing. The DPR Office at the JCCC asked Kiev for additional security guarantees to establish a ceasefire in the area.

The Vasilyevka pumping station, a key Donbass water supply facility, services residents on both sides of the contact line. It regularly comes under Ukrainian forces fire. On September 15, the pumping station personnel hid in the shelter as Ukrainian forces shelled the area.*jk
