Kiev forces increase intensity of strikes at DPR by 2.5 times over 24 hours – JCCC

Donetsk, Apr 2 – DAN. Ukrainian forces expended more than 200 rounds of ammunition over the past 24 hours targeting the Donetsk People’s Republic, head of the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov said on Tuesday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire ten times expending 214 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said.

Fire was delivered at the airport area (Volvo Centre) and the Mikhailovka village in suburban Donetsk, the Zaitsevo, Golmovskiy, Izotov Colliery and Dolomitnoye townships outside Gorlovka; Yasinovataya; Dokuchayevsk; and the Leninskoye village in southern DPR, he added.

The enemy used 82mm and 120mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and high calibre small arms. The amount of expended ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not added to overall daily statistics.

Over the previous reporting period, the JCCC recorded ten ceasefire violations by Ukrainian army units as DPR areas were shelled with 85 rounds of ammunition.

In the outskirts of Gorlovka, a children’s playground, houses and garages were damaged in shelling by Ukrainian forces yesterday evening. The DPR People’s Militia named the Ukrainian commanders who had ordered to open fire at DPR settlements.*jk
