Opinion: Zelensky’s stance against racism contradicts his official policy

Donetsk, Jan 27 – DAN. Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky’s statement that antisemitism, xenophobia and racism are unacceptable run counter his policy of supporting radical nationalists, said the head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic social movement Alexey Muratov.

During the ceremony to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp liberation Zelensky said that the international community must come together in fight against any manifestation of antisemitism, xenophobia and racism.

“It is interesting, what does Zelensky think about the situation in the country entrusted to him? The election results clearly showed that people are tired of nationalistic minority’s terror and fratricidal war, and colonial policies of western curators,” Muratov said.
Instead of committing to his promises, Zelensky condones criminals, allows them to define the state policy, he added.

“There’s no fascism in Ukraine” is turning into a mantra at the same time as collaborators complicit in the murders of Jews, Poles, Ukrainians (during the WWII) are venerated at the state level. Torchlight processions reviving the heyday of Nazi Germany have become regular. The monuments of Jewish people are being vandalized, minorities are attacked, laws are endorsed to discriminate them…”

Muratov also reminded that Ukrainian special services are openly developing plans to forcefully “reintegrate Donbass” and are calling for deportations and Croatian scenario, while public officials in law enforcement circles are describing the Minsk Agreements articles as contradicting the interest of Ukraine.*ot
