Pushilin blames Kiev for advancement in Donbass under cover of Additional Measures

Donetsk, Aug 14 – DAN. Ukrainian armed formations use Additional Measures to control the ceasefire to advance towards the DPR border, said DPR Head Denis Pushilin.

“Ukraine tries to use the hard-brokered package of additional measures meant to strengthen the ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019 for different purposes. Engineer reconnaissance in the vicinity of Shumy, digging trenches and launching UAVs is just a part of their provocative activities aimed at advancing and securing their positions, which is clearly not a sign of peaceful intentions,” his official statement published via Telegram reads.

Pushilin called on the OSCE and the Minsk agreements guarantor countries to adopt measures to exert influence on Kiev and curb Ukrainian army offensive action that violates the agreements.

“We are not going to risk lives of our people, DPR People’s Militia units are fully observing the additional measures, but stand ready to react in order to defend civilians.”

The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”. The package came into effect on July 27. *ot
