Rector of Donbass Law Academy detained on murder charge – police

Donetsk, Jan 22 – DAN. DPR police has detained the rector of the Donbass Law Academy on a murder-for-hire charge, the press service of the DPR Interior Ministry said.

“The Department for Combating Organized Crime has detained the rector of the Donbass Law Academy Sergey Goncharov on suspicion that he hired a killer following a work-related conflict with top officials in the Ministry of Education.”

Goncharov used his old connections in criminal circles. He passed personal data of the targets to the killer, including the information on their whereabouts, routes, schedules, and planned the murder.

The killer had to provide proofs of murder and leave the Republic immediately after.

Police filed the case against Goncharov under Art. 106 of the DPR Criminal Code (murder for financial gain).*ot
