Ukrainian army plans to derail June 19 Minsk talks: DPR intelligence

Donetsk, Jun 13 – DAN. The Ukrainian army Centre for Information and Psychological Operations is preparing an action to foil the Donbass peace talks, Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday citing intelligence reports.

“Our intelligence obtained information that the Ukrainian army Centre for Information and Psychological Operations was preparing an action aimed at foiling the truce talks in Minsk on June 19,” Basurin said.

Ukrainian television journalists arrived in the Avdeyevka area to support the action. On June 14-15, six people from the Ukrainian army’s 73rd Special Operations Centre will arrive there in order to advance to the contact line in the responsibility zone of 93rd Separate Mechanised Brigade and shell the Brigade’s rear positions and a residential area.

“Joint Forces Operation commander (Alexander) Syrsky tasked 93rd Brigade commander (Dmitry) Bryzhinsky with arranging a timely retreat of his subordinates to shelters, letting the ‘imitation group’ access the special operation site and taking media representatives to the Brigade’s positions to record the fake shelling,” Basurin said.

The next meeting of the Contact Group for a peaceful settlement of the Donbass conflict is due on June 19. Following the previous meeting, The DPR envoy, Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova said that Kiev was ready to have a constructive dialogue over implementation of the Minsk Agreements. At the same time, she noted a lack of progress in the political subgroup’s work.*jk
