Ukrainian army strike damages air shaft of western Donetsk mine – DPR militia

Donetsk, Dec 26 – DAN. Ukrainian army 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade  servicemen fired grenade launchers at Donetsk outskirts damaging an air shaft of the coal mine in the Staromikhailovka neighbourhood in western Donetsk, the DPR People’s Militia reported on Thursday.

“Today, at 12:15, 28th Brigade gunmen, in a new attempt to provoke our retaliation, fired three grenades at our territory, damaging an air shaft of the Cherlyuskintsev mine in Staromikhailovka,” the report said.

The Republic’s Coal and Energy Ministry told the Donetsk News Agency that the strike had not affected company operation.

The Chelyuskintsev mine is one of the oldest coal-mining businesses in the Republic, located in Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district 20 kilometres from the city centre.  It was commissioned in 1913. Because of lengthy tunnels, industrial infrastructure facilities are located at a large distance from one another; some of them are in close proximity to the contact line.*jk
