Ukrainian forces fire at DPR four times over past 24 hours, use mortars – JCCC

Donetsk, Oct 15 – DAN. Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire four times over the past 24 hours, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire four times expending ten rounds of ammunition,” the report said.

Fire was delivered at the Volvo Centre in northern Donetsk, the Kashtanovka settlement and Yakovlevka village outskirts on the Donetsk axis, and the Leninskoye village outskirts on the Mariupol axis. The enemy used 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian armed formations carried out three explosions at their positions next to the Avdeyevka settlement at 11:20 and 16:35 and a Ukrainian drone was sighted in the Shakhta Trudovskaya settlement area in western Donetsk. JCCC observers also reported that an unmanned aerial vehicle was seen in the Novomaryevka village area from 14:40 to 14:50.

In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire three times.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of any weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights. The accords on additional ceasefire control measures considerably eased tensions in the region. The armistice on the contact line was nearly fully observed in the first weeks but later on the number of violations began to grow again.*jk
