Ukrainian forces fire at DPR once over 24 hours – JCCC

Donetsk, Dec 24 – DAN. Kiev army units opened fire at the Donetsk People’s Republic once over the past 24 hours, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported on Thursday.

Fire was delivered at the Shakhty 6/7 settlement in northwestern Gorlovka; the enemy used automatic grenade launchers (AGS) and small arms. No damage or casualties have been reported, the JCCC said.

No other truce violations have been recorded.

In the previous reporting period, Kiev forces violated the ceasefire three times using 120mm mortars and and carried out engineer works in the Avdeyevka area.

The DPR Foreign Ministry said that Ukrainian army’s actions in Donbass were  outrageous and that the situation in the region was worsening.

The package of Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights. By mid-September, Kiev had practically disavowed the “Additional Measures” rejecting the coordination mechanism for responding to violations. Donetsk repeatedly made statements on mounting tensions on the contact line.*jk
