Ukrainian forces increase intensity of fire at DPR seven-fold over 24 hours – JCCC

Donetsk, Sep 24 – DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have opened fire at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory on the Mariupol axis twice over the past 24 hours, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire twice expending 35 rounds of ammunition,” the report said.

A DPR militiaman suffered a gunshot wound as the Dzerzhinskoye village in southern DPR came under sniper fire from Ukrainian forces. On top of that, Ukrainian army units fired 25 automatic grenade launcher rounds and 10 underbarrel grenade launcher rounds at the Leninskoye village in southern DPR, the JCCC said.

In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire three times expending five rounds of ammunition.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of any weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights.*jk
