Ukrainian forces shell northwestern Gorlovka for second day running – JCCC



Donetsk, Dec 22 – DAN. Kiev army units opened grenade launcher fire at the Shakhty 6/7 settlement area in northwestern Gorlovka, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Tuesday.

“At 10:25, Ukrainian armed formations opened fire at Gorlovka’s 6/7 settlement expending six RPG-7 grenade launcher rounds and 20 SPG recoilless gun rounds,” the report said.

Ukrainian forces also used small arms; fire was delivered from the Yuzhnaya coalmine in the Kiev-controlled Dzerzhinsk, the JCCC said.  No casualties were immediately reported.

On Monday, Ukrainian forces fired some twenty mortar round at Gorlovka. Reports on Tuesday morning said that Ukrainian armed formation had fired at the DPR territory on the Gorlovka axis twice over the past 24 hours.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures has been formally in force in Donbass since July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights.*jk
