Ukrainian radicals keep stolen ammo in former children’s recreation centre in Donbass – militia

Donetsk, Sep 4 – DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic intelligence found out the location of transhipment terminals in Kiev-controlled area in Donbass through which weapons and ammunition had been smuggled out of Ukraine’s Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone. Four locations were named by Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin.

“The stores of stolen weapons and ammunition protected by “Right Sector” and “Azov” armed security guards are located at the former children’s recreation centre “Scarlet Sails” in the Yuryevka village, Mangush district,  in Novgorodovka on machine building plant premises, and in Avdeyevka, at 15 Molodyozhnaya Street and 249 Sobornaya Street,” Basurin said.

Over the past two weeks, 11 Ukrainian servicemen involved in contraband have been detained in the JFO zone, he said. On top of that, Ukrainian secret services found out that stolen weapons had been hoarded in caches outside Kiev, Kharkov and Zhitomir.

“The Defence Ministry and Ukrainian army command plan to tighten security at checkpoits on the boundaries of the JFO zone and inside the country,” the DPR militia deputy commander said.

Earlier reports said that the DPR militia had obtained Security Service of Ukraine information on nationalists’ smuggling weapons from Donbas to field camps in Western Ukraine.*jk
